Daiya Weyr
[/blockquote][/blockquote]As the Red Star turned, the intervals got shorter and shorter, until the Weyrs were overrun with dragons. Hatchlings. Weyrlings. Fight-ready Dragons. Old. They all called one livable Weyr their home. Tempers ran short, to the point where Riders were openly challenging one another over little things. Daiya Weyr housed four Queens; three Golds and a young Amethyst, which caused problems when the Senior Queen and her Juniors did not see eye to eye.
Young Lilia of Amethyst Panitath, the only Amethyst at Daiya Weyr, was at a stand off against Corspa of Gold Kasith, Senior Weyrwoman of Daiya Weyr. The young Amethyst pair believed that it was time to go out and seek a new Weyr, one that could house the new clutch that Panitath was soon to lay, while the aging Senior Weyrwoman and her Gold believed that Panitath should have her clutch on the Sands that she, herself, was born on. That there would be no one to follow the Amethyst pair and that all of Panitath's hatchlings would go between if they left Daiya Weyr.
Yet, while Gold Kasith was busy with training the youngest of the Golds, Panitath sent out her weyrmate, Bronze Oranith with his T'lyn, to find her a suitable Weyr. Within a fortnight, T'lyn returned with news that he had found an area that would be suitable for their Weyr. The space had looked like it had once been a Weyr, having caverns and caves that looked to have once been Lower Caverns and private weyrs, though it would need some cleaning. Lilia went to Corspa and requested the Senior Weyrwoman allow her to take a few drudges and her Headwoman to the new Weyr and clean it up. Once cleaned, Lilia would present the Weyr to Corspa's and Kasith's inspection and they would decide whether or not the Weyr stood up to their standards.
Lilia was granted her favor, after much time and thought on Corspa and Kasith's part. It was finally Kasith would persuaded Hers to allow the young pair their wish, stating that every expecting mother wanted the best home for their dragonets.
With the Senior Weyrwoman's approval, Lilia and several handpicked drudges and the Headwoman went with T'lyn to what they were hoping would be their new home. There were many doubts at first, with one drudge getting lost in the tunnels on the first day and another nearly falling to her death while cleaning out a private weyr, but in the end, Crom Weyr was presented to Senior Weyrwoman Corspa and her mate. Lilia and Panitath followed Corspa around, until T'lyn had to physically hold Lilia back and Oranith wrapped his tail around Panitath's hind leg. In the end, Crom Weyr was born and Lilia became its Senior Weyrwoman and T'lyn its Senior Weyrleader.
Crom Weyr
[/blockquote][/blockquote]The youngest of the Goldriders, Oara of Gold Amoth, followed Lilia and her Amethyst to Crom Weyr, being allowed to call themselves the Junior Weyrwoman simply because Lilia needed help and Oara had been training the most with Corspa. No Junior Weyrleader was decided, as Amoth had yet to Rise, and probably wouldn't until Panitath's clutch was off the Sands and the Sands cleaned.
With Oara's, T'lyn's, the handful of Riders, Candidates, and Weyrfolk helps, Lilia was able to get Crom Weyr off the ground and running with very little hick-ups. A short Interval had been in the new Weyr's favor, as no Thread fell from the sky while the Riders worked til their dragons were dull to get those who wanted to move from Daiya to Crom.
A few months flew by while the Riders were moving everything over. Before they knew it, the Weyr was in working condition.
Standing before Corspa and her mate, D'ris of Bronze Yrith, Lilia and T'lyn said their goodbyes, promising to return if anything went wrong or they could no longer uphold Crom Weyr. At that moment, a couple stepped forward, naming themselves to be just tied. The male was the son of Daiya Hold's Lord and Lady, and he requested that he and his new mate be taken to Crom Weyr to start a new Hold that would tithe to Crom. T'lyn spoke, informing those around that he had seen a well protected mountain close by that they could work on to house the Hold, thus Crom Hold was born.
In the months that followed, Crom Weyr was worked upon, improving daily, while Crom Hold prospered and thrived under the careful leadership of young Hold Lord Chaor and his pretty Hold Lady Ghaia. Daily flights from Daiya and Crom Weyr were still taking place, with new candidates, Weyrfolk, and Holdfolk coming in everyday. Soon Lilia and T'lyn began to wonder just how many would come over, but messengers informed the Weyrleaders that Corspa and D'ris had more than enough Riders to fight against Thread and Lilia had more than enough candidates to Stand at Panitath's clutch.
Finally it happened. The Amethyst's resounding bugle informed all that she was clutching and all of Crom Weyr raced to see the eggs. Messengers were sent to Crom Hold for the Lord and Lady and to Daiya Weyr and Hold for both the Weyrleader pair and Hold Lord and Lady. Before the mass knew it, there were twenty-four eggs on the hot Sands, a small clutch for an Amethyst, but a large one for her first with her first Flight. Oranith crooned to his mate, Lilia and T'lyn embraced in happiness, the Weyrs and Holds rejoiced. All their work, all their hard work was finally paying off.
But the Thread is still ever present and with hardening eggs on the Sands, Lilia can only pray to Faranth that her Amethyst's eggs will hatch before the next Threadfall.
